Muay Thai Gym in Chiang Mai Old City!
What Is Muay Thai?
Muay Thai (pronounced Mwuai Thai) is often referred to as Thai boxing. Muay Thai is a martial art and full contact combat sport that is considered as the ‘art of eight limbs’; renowned for its collaboration of techniques using Kicks, knees, Punches, elbows, shins, as well as various clinching skills.
The art of Muay Thai can be dated back to the 13th century where it was taught to members of the army and eventually practiced by the Siamese people in aid of defending their territories in times of war. Laws and rules were eventually formulated, thus officialising Muay Thai as Thailand’s National sport. It has become a popular sport/martial art, currently practiced all around the world and is now recognized as a competing sport in the Olympic games!
